VOLCANES - GUATEMALA

This smallholder blend from the Sacatepéquez region of Guatemala is chocolatey and sessionable. Produced by Gildardo Martínez and Neptalí Orozco, the coffee grows on the slopes of volcanoes where the soils are known as 'andosols' - excellent for plant root development, water retention and resistance to drought. We sourced this particular coffee for its clean and comforting notes- lower acidity than much of our offering, it provides a welcome contrast. There's lots of dark chocolate, some chewy almond texture, and soft background notes of plum and citrus. We've developed the roast a little more to highlight these characteristics- so it makes just as good an espresso as filter brew.
