MITIKU YABATO - ETHIOPIA

Regular price£15.50
/

Our first ever single producer coffee from Ethiopia, step forward Mitiku Yabato. After Ethiopian exporting rules for coffee were updated in 2018, small holders were permitted to export their own coffee directly, without having to go through the exchange or a larger company. This has allowed Mitiku to get his own license, and with the assistance of Mecota Trading, he is now able to achieve better prices for his coffee. In the cup we're tasting super sweet and mellow blueberries, the creamiest of mouth feels and strong chamomile florals. We've only secured one 60kg sack of this stunner, so you better get in there quick!

MITIKU YABATO - ETHIOPIA

In 2013, Mitiku Yabato planted 74158 and 74110 varietal coffee trees on his farm in Bombe village of the Bensa district. For years, he sold red and dried cherries to the local market, but the returns never matched the quality of his product. After the exporting rules for coffee were updated in 2018, small holders were permitted to export their own coffee directly, without having to go through the exchange or a larger company. This has allowed Mitiku to get his own license, and with the assistance of Mecota Trading, he is now able to achieve better prices for his coffee.
