FROM OUR IMPORTERS - CARAVELA
Caravela has been collaborating with coffee producers in Sozoranga for several years now, with our PECA technician visiting the producers and providing guidance on various aspects such as drying techniques, farm management, and more. In 2023, a purchasing station will be established in the nearby canton of Puyango to facilitate the coffee delivery process.
Coffee production in El Tundo has been a continuous practice for over 30 years and serves as the main source of livelihood and economic activity for many people in the region. The contributing producers of El Tundo belong to the second or third generation, and they have adopted agroforestry systems on their farms, primarily utilizing pacae trees for shade. In the past, their coffee production followed traditional methods, which involved selling "bola" coffee, a type of low-quality natural coffee. However, over time, they have transitioned to producing washed coffee and have achieved better quality results.
