DUCHENNE DASH - BAIXADAO, BRAZIL

PRODUCER: Helisson Afonso da Silva

FARM: Baixadao, Mantiqueira de Minas

PROCESS: Natural

VARIETIES: Yellow bourbon

ALTITUDE: 1350 MASL

NOTES: Toblerone & maltesers!

We're very excited to be collaborating with Matt again to raise money and awareness for Duchenne UK. In May, Matt and his team will be be taking part in the Duchenne Dash, cycling from London to Paris in 24 hours. This year we've chosen a coffee very close to our hearts- a natural process yellow bourbon from Baixadao, in Mantiqueira de Minas. Gareth and George visited the farm as part of their trip to Brazil last summer. Helisson Afonso has taken over the coffee production from his father, and employs regenerative farming techniques that are reaping incredible rewards.

We've developed the roast a little on this one, so it's geared more for espresso brewing. (Still makes a banging filter mind!) We're tasting loads of milk chocolate, honey and nuts reminding us of toblerone and maltesers. Super sweet and sticky, delish with a bit of milk or on its own. She's ready to fuel your bike rides all the way to Paris, or maybe just to your local cafe ;)

All profits from the sale of this coffee go to Duchenne UK.

This coffee is a fundraising collaboration between Matthew Bateman & Wood St Coffee. In May 2026 Matthew will be cycling from London to Paris to raise money and awareness for Duchenne UK. The Duchenne Dash is Duchenne UK’s annual signature cycling event. Over the past 10 years, the Dash has grown into our biggest and most challenging fundraising event of the year and has raised more than £5.5 million for DMD research. Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a progressive condition diagnosed in childhood. It causes all the muscles in the body to gradually weaken. There is currently no cure for Duchenne, but there is hope. Duchenne UK is at the forefront of advancing treatments and care for everyone affected by the disease.
