MULLED WINE, CALENDAR CHOCOLATE, TANGERINE

Tis the season, which can only mean one thing…our Christmas Blend is back! More Christmas-y than ever, this year we’ve blended a delicious gesha from Ethiopia with a naturally processed Brazil. The Ethiopian brings all the booziness and florals of mulled wine, whilst the Brazil component brims with calendar chocolate and roasted nuts. Rich and decadent, we can’t wait for you to enjoy a cup of Christmas with us. The blend has been omni-roasted, which means it’s easy to brew as an espresso or filter coffee.
Both these coffees were sourced through our partners Kamba.
The Ethiopian gesha, 'Gelana', comes from Israel Degfa’s private farm. The farm acts as a starting point for many of Israel’s new variety experiments and helps to improve uniform growth for coffee seedlings. Initially established to cultivate the Gesha variety, the farm has also been used more recently to explore traditional Brazil varieties. As well as offering new cup profiles, the work at Gesha farm is monitored by teams of agronomists to help contribute to variety research in the face of climate change.
The Brazilian component, ‘Cocada’, is from a farm close to Bruna’s (Kamba’s general manager) heart. Andalicio Rinco and his family are well known in the town of Albertina for their big community involvement and tradition in the regional coffee industry. The town is very close to the Costa dry mill near where Bruna was bought up. They always engaged with local events, including the annual coffee festival with typical food and local music. His daughter was also elected Miss Coffee in 2020. The family is located in the beautiful mountains of Albertina, in between Mogiana and South of Minas. Their coffee production style is to impeccably keep the regional characteristics on traditional varieties.
